My name is Debby Ghosh McNamara and I am a fully qualified registered Hypnotherapist with a successful practice spanning over 23 years in Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough.
I am a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society and as a member I adhere to their code of ethics and practice. I use various hypnotherapy techniques to help you overcome fears, anxiety, confidence, phobias, stop smoking and weight loss.
Hypnosis is a relaxing, drug-free method of allowing access to your subconscious mind and unlocks information that is already there. With my academic background and over ten years working in the pharmaceutical industry it was a natural progression for me to look at how our minds and bodies are connected and how this can impact our health, emotions, and behaviour.
During my clinical work I use many psychotherapeutic and hypnotherapeutic techniques which include suggestion therapy and hypno-analysis as well as interventions such as EFT (emotional freedom technique) and NLP - Neuro Linguistic Programming.
I’m approachable, caring and clients can come and get help with whatever problems and issues they want to deal with. My National Independent Provider Code is 8HF09.

Hypnotherapy is a safe, natural technique that uses focused relaxation and positive suggestion to help you make lasting changes in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
No. You remain fully aware and in control at all times. Hypnosis is simply a relaxed state of focused attention where you are more open to beneficial suggestions.
Hypnotherapy can support a wide range of concerns, including stress, anxiety, phobias, weight management, stopping smoking, sleep difficulties, and improving confidence.
This varies from person to person. Some people notice positive changes after just one session, while others may benefit from a short course of sessions. We will discuss your goals and create a plan that suits your needs.
Yes. Hypnotherapy is a safe, evidence-based practice. It is non-invasive, drug-free, and widely recognised as an effective complementary therapy.
Sessions usually begin with a conversation about your goals. You will then be guided into a relaxed state, where positive suggestions and therapeutic techniques are used to help you make the changes you want.
Most people can enter a light to medium hypnotic state if they are willing and open to the process. It is a natural state that feels very similar to daydreaming or deep relaxation.
Everyone responds differently, but many people find hypnotherapy a powerful tool for change. Your commitment and openness to the process play an important role in its success.
